Lihue County Emergency Management All-Hazards Preparedness Program in Lihue, HI
"CAW-1" is an 85-foot Guardian Fast Patrol Craft that is owned by the Center for Asymmetric Warfare for use as a high endurance, all-weather technology demonstrator or command and control platform in the maritime domain. Boasting a top speed of up to 38 knots, excellent sea-keeping, versatile deck space and equipment handling capabilities, and a sophisticated electronics suite, CAW-1 makes an ideal platform for test and integration of new technologies, serving as an aggressor in training scenarios, coordinating command and control of maritime operations, or launching and recovering specialized equipment. For extended operations, CAW-1 can accommodate up to eight personnel with a full galley and mess, two heads with showers, a two-person stateroom and six-person berthing compartment. For specialized operational support, CAW-1 provides a 20' 4" JABCO crane capable of lifting 930 pounds; a dedicated aft swim platform ideal for launching and recovering divers, small boats, or other specialized vehicles and equipment; and an ammunition ready-storage locker for tactical training and exercise evolutions. The vessel is constructed with a fire retardant double fiberglass hull for increased insulation, sound and vibration dampening, ease of maintenance, and extended service life.
